Concept of Islamic Law - Foundations of Sharia Philosophy

This book presents a critical and philosophical analysis of Islamic law (Sharia), focusing on its legal structure. The work argues that Islamic jurisprudence should be understood as a human interpretive endeavour, shaped by its historical and social contexts rather than as a fixed divine code.

The book is organised into two chapters and a conclusion:

• Chapter One presents the foundational perspectives on Islamic law, examining both traditional and rational approaches and clarifies their practical implications.
• Chapter Two offers a critical reassessment of the traditional concept of Islamic law, arguing that it no longer adequately addresses the complexities and challenges of the modern world.
• The conclusion synthesises the key findings and proposes a new interpretive framework for understanding and applying Islamic law in today's context.
